Nacsport in a variety of rugby clubs
Today, I would like to officially welcome some more Rugby Union clubs into our ever growing Nacsport community. This post introduces London Scottish, Macclesfield RUFC, Jed-Forest RFC, Biggar RFC and Monkstown Rugby. That’s 5 clubs, from 3 different countries and 5 different leagues! Without taking schools and colleges into account, or individual people and students working as freelance Performance Analysts for different teams, you will be able to find Nacsport in use in the following leagues in the UK and Ireland:
Greene King IPA Championship
SSE National League Division One
SSE National League Division Two North
RFU National League Three South West
RFU National League Three North
Tribute Western Counties West
Leinster League Division 1A
BT National League 1
BT National League 2
SWALEC National League 1 East Central
Ahead of the start of the Greene King IPA Championship season, I was with London Scottish at their training base to help get all of their Nacsport licences up and running and deliver training on using the tools to their Analysts, Players and Coaches.
Although the club previously purchased Nacsport, the club have now entered into a 3-year agreement with us which gives them a variety of licences that will enable them to capture, analyse and review live; along with letting them carry out further analysis and reviews before and after games too. This is achieved through the use of an Elite licence, 3 Scout Plus Unlimited licences and 4 Viewer licences.
Jonathan Bray is the Head of Performance Analysis at London Scottish and kindly shared this testimonial with us to let you know how Nacsport is used at the club.
I approached AnalysisPro Ltd because I was looking to revamp our analysis set up at London Scottish, in order to conduct more detailed analysis than in previous seasons as well as giving the players and coaches an easy method to review the footage, all at a reasonable cost. Having already used a Nacsport Scout Plus license last season, I was familiar with its capabilities and after discussions with AnalysisPro, we found a solution that would not only improve the live coding but would also provide us with the capability to do everything else we required. The support we received was outstanding and the help received on the recent training day was excellent. The players are really starting to engage with the new software with the majority having never tried it before. We have even had the players building their own presentations and delivering in the team meetings to review our recent game against Saracens. With the endless possibilities that this software provides, there are still new areas to explore and test out which could really enhance our performance, through the dashboards, drawing tools, live play back and many others. I would definitely recommend this software to anyone interested in analysing their sport, whether looking at teams or individuals.
It was a pleasure to deliver the 1st of 4 training days to the London Scottish team and I look forward to visiting again soon to help push on the workflows that the team can benefit from with their powerful solution!
I would next like to welcome Macclesfield RUFC as a new Nacsport user in National League 1. The club have chosen a Nacsport Scout Plus licence on another 3-year agreement, which will enable them to easily work alongside their existing SportsCode licence thanks to the new SCpkg import feature which was added in the latest Nacsport update, along with carrying out more in-depth analysis in the Nacsport software. The ability to open up multiple tabs of timelines in Scout Plus and create presentations using clips from different games was a key factor for the club.
Matthew Coleridge is the Head of Analysis at Macclesfield RUFC and had this to say about using Nacsport:
At Macclesfield Rugby, we went with Nacsport Scout Plus due to the value for money. Despite being National One level, we are not blessed with an excessive amount of cash and most systems on the market do not offer the amount of functionality to cost ratio that Scout Plus does, and in addition it allows for compatability with other systems which we use, for example Sportscode. The ease with which we can share analysis between machines, the depth of meta data it allows us to produce, and the ease of use, makes Nacsport Scout Plus the ideal tool for us [Macclesfield Blues].
Sticking with National League 1 but moving over the border to Scottish Rugby (so BT National League 1!), I would like to welcome Jed-Forest RFC as another Nacsport Scout Plus user. Jammy McFarlane is Head Coach of the team and is purchasing their licence over a 3-year period, which ensures that their technical support and update service is covered during that time. Then at the end of the 3 years, Jammy will own a lifetime licence of Nacsport of course! In BT National League 2, Biggar RFC are another team who have chosen to carry out their video analysis with Nacsport Scout Plus on a 3-year agreement.
Jumping over the sea this time to Ireland, I would also like to welcome Monkstown Rugby from Leinster League Division 1A as another Nacsport Scout Plus user. The analysis for the team is provided by Damien Strick, who has also entered into a 3-year agreement for the licence. Quite a popular choice for our community!
We would like to thank the teams and individuals mentioned in this post for choosing to use or expand their Nacsport provisions, and wish them all the best of luck in the new season!
