Before the last few games of the Rugby League “Super League” competition, I was approached by Huddersfield Giants‘ Assistant Coach Kieron Purtill who wanted to learn more about who we are, what we can provide and specifically the Nacsport video analysis software we represent in the UK and Ireland. I had a Skype meeting with Kieron, Head Coach Paul Anderson and other coaching staff to introduce AnalysisPro Ltd and also give an online demonstration of what they could achieve by using Nacsport. Since that meeting, the team have been using Nacsport video analysis software to carry out live match day analysis and also post match analysis on different machines.
Huddersfield Giants have a long history of success and honours, and this year they finished 3rd in the Super League Table just 1 point behind the table toppers St Helens. In the Super League, the teams which finish in the top 4 positions compete in play-offs to reach the Super League Grand Final which is being played on Saturday 11th October between St Helens and Wigan Warriors. Unfortunately, the Giants were beaten in their play-off against Wigan Warriors but are hoping for better success next year. We are hoping to be able to have a greater influence on the team’s performance next year by providing them with powerful processes and products that can help to improve their analysis, coaching and feedback mechanisms.
I asked Assistant Coach Kieron Purtill to let us know a bit more about why they are looking to use performance analysis in the team and how they have found working with ourselves and Nacsport so far:
At an Elite level of sport you are always looking to give your team that extra edge or 1% difference, this is what led me to seek a performance analysis software system to suits our needs. We were looking for a powerful, cost effective way of providing this service. After researching different software on different platforms, over the internet and reading testimonials on twitter, it became obvious that Nacsport, provided by AnalysisPro Ltd, provided everything we were looking for. From day one the software has been user friendly and provides different levels to suit every coaching need. The support given by AnalysisPro has been 1st class and Josh is on hand at any time to help and support. The 2014 season for Huddersfield Giants has just seen us scratch the surface of Nacsport. We have been capturing live at games and been reviewing footage at halftime. 2015 looks to be a big year for the Giants in Performance Analysis and we are looking to take interns on to provide not just our 1st team, but our whole junior section with training & game analysis, looking to integrate all levels of Nacsport within our environment. In the off season, our coaches will be undertaking training & guidance provided by AnalysisPro on the following Nacsport software versions: Scout Plus, Basic Plus and Viewer. On top of this we are already looking into the AnalysisPro iPad app AP Viewer, to provide our players with the best possible ways of viewing their own performance.
