Founder and Consultant
Jon began his working career as a Joiner and with a passion for rugby, started making wooden rugby training equipment and demonstrating it to rugby clubs. These demonstration/coaching sessions soon became more in demand than the equipment and so he embarked on a pathway to become a professional rugby coach. He worked with youth teams and progressed to working with Premiership and National Teams like Bath Rugby and USA Rugby as a specialised forwards coach. In particular, Jon was focussed on scrummaging and has recently shared his knowledge and techniques with the world in his popular Scrum Clinic series which is housed here on the AnalysisPro YouTube Channel.
As a coach, Jon was introduced to Performance Analysis when he pioneered a new video analysis software with his clubs. Eventually, this lead him to become the General Manager of the company selling that timeline based software; a role which saw Jon support and provide video analysis products and services to the majority of elite and professional clubs in the UK and further afield. In his role, Jon also pushed forward the use of video analysis and the transferable processes learned by sports teams to non-sport environments like Medical, Educational and Industry based settings which now benefit from established workflows.
After parting from that company, Jon established AnalysisPro to continue supporting his valued customers but also look for and develop exciting new products, processes and equipment which could be utilised in both sport and non-sport settings. In doing so, AnalysisPro is committed to helping people improve their performance at a much more affordable level, so that the key processes and benefits utilised by the elite levels can also be enhanced and implemented down to the grassroots of performance.
Sales & Support
Josh went to Cardiff Metropolitan University (UWIC) to study a Sport and Exercise Science degree course, where he also gained roles as a Course Representative and Student Ambassador. In the second year of study, he started a Performance Analysis module and was introduced to Darren Lewis (Gloucester Rugby Head Analyst) by his lecturer Darrell Cobner when looking to gain experience in the field. Darren Lewis headed up the WRU Premiership Bureau at the time which is where Josh got his first experiences of filming and providing video analysis feedback to teams in the Welsh Principality Premiership.
In his third year of study, Josh focussed his dissertation on determining the success of specific lineouts used by the University 1st XV in the hope of conducting a research piece which could also have a direct impact on performance. He received the CPA UWIC Performance Analysis Award for this dissertation along with a 1st Class Honours degree which set him up for the Performance Analysis Masters Course in the following year. During the Masters Course, Josh worked as the head analyst for the UWIC 1st XV providing video feedback resources and statistical outputs.
In this role, Josh eventually started working closely with Jon in 2012, creating the first sets of tutorial videos on how to use the systems supplied by AnalysisPro and meeting with clients. After exposure to this different side of the performance analysis field, where he could assist others and educate them on different products and processes being made available by AnalysisPro, Josh fully joined the company in 2013.
Josh is also the administrator of a blog website where people freely share information and advice on different processes and experiences gained in the world of performance analysis. The website is www.visualperformanceanalysis.com and we encourage you to visit it as a great place for learning and sharing.
