For Mike Cotter, Head Performance Analyst with the Limerick Under 20 Hurlers, the lead-up to the championship is a busy period. To provide the best possible support to players and management, Mike needed to find a way to work faster without losing data quality.

Moving from Data Collection to Analysis
Before upgrading to Nacsport Pro, Mike found that coding a 60-minute game would typically take around 90 minutes. Much of this time was spent rewinding the footage to ensure every detail was captured correctly.
By using the Clustered Buttons feature in Nacsport Pro, he has reduced that coding time by nearly 30%, now down to around 65 minutes.
"The clusters have allowed me to gather the same quantity of data, but faster," Mike explains. "I am able to keep up with the speed of the game better when coding and I don't have to rewind as often."
This 25-minute saving per game is more than just a convenience. It has fundamentally changed Mike's role. Instead of spending his entire session gathering data, he can now use that extra time to understand why events are happening on the pitch.

Improving Player Engagement with Auto Presentations
Data is only useful if it leads to better performance. Mike has found that the speed of Nacsport Pro allows for much better engagement with both players and management in the days following a match. One of the key tools for this has been Auto Presentation, which allows Mike to automatically prepare and send individual clips to specific players.
"The Auto Presentation feature has significantly sped up the preparation of all the individual player clips. In previous years I would have just shared the entire matrix post-match, and players found it a little more difficult to consume, especially when using a mobile device."
Taking Ownership of Performance with Nacsport Hub
Giving players direct access to their own clips in Nacsport Hub has shifted the dynamic between players and management, moving the performance review from something done to players, to something they actively drive themselves.
"Sharing a presentation with players now allows easier access on the mobile app and creates a greater opportunity for engagement. It also allows the coaches and I to see who has viewed their clips. Players having access to their own game clips has enabled a greater understanding of the technical aspects of play and encouraged a more player-led, reflective approach. It enables players to instigate the conversation with management in the post-match week, resulting in greater ownership of the individual performance review."
Why the Move to Nacsport Pro Matters
The transition from Scout to Pro, paired with Nacsport Hub, has given Mike access to tools that automate the heavy lifting of video analysis. By spending less time on the manual process of marking clips, he can focus on the tactical insights that help Limerick's young hurlers improve.
For Mike and the team at Limerick, the summer championship is approaching fast. With a more efficient workflow in place, they are ready for the season ahead.
