Live stream video analysis to the bench and changing room – with Nacsport

Reading time: 4 Minutes

There are several ways to achieve the live streaming of data and/or video clips across the pitch to the coaching staff, to review on another device, and even into the changing rooms for half time and post-match team talks.

Let’s start with the basics and work our way up, also reviewing how much this will cost you!

With any method, you will need to be live coding in Nacsport with a live video capture device, like AverMedia, connecting the HDMI or SDI feed of your sports analysis camera to your laptop (unless using the ethernet or network connection to an IP Camera feed or capture mast like AP Capture). It does not matter if you are filming football, filming rugby, filming hockey or filming any sport – the process is the same.

If I have lost you already, you will first need to understand how to live capture into Nacsport – see here.

Next, you will need to create an independent, private and secure network to connect with your receiver devices. We can provide a system to easily create this network and it is called AP Wireless Lite. You can direct it at the bench so the coaching team can use the analysis information you are creating live during the game, to make more informed decisions.

AP Wireless Lite comes equipped with the case, a multi-directional tripod, and a close-range router for use when/if needed.

We can deliver this to your club or home for £650 (+vat)

Once you have these two things in place, you open up your options for live streaming and sharing:

1 – Use Nacsport Basic Plus to live stream a dashboard of stats (no clips) to another device (any device with a web browser i.e. phone, tablet). You will need to create your own independent network between you and the coaching staff using AP Wireless Lite or another method. You will not be able to see any video or data outside of the network – i.e. in the changing room, unless you can create a network between you and the changing room i.e. wired access points or by physically taking your laptop.

This version of Nacsport costs: £470 (+vat) for a Lifetime Licence. Spread payments available too.

2 – Use Nacsport Scout Plus to live stream the clips and dashboard of stats using to other devices (any device with a web browser i.e. phone, tablet). You will need to create your own independent network between you and the coaching staff using AP Wireless Lite or another method. You will not be able to see any video or data outside of the network – i.e. in the changing room, unless you can create a network between you and the changing room i.e. wired access points or by physically taking your laptop.

This version of Nacsport costs: £1,025 (vat) for a Lifetime Licence. Spread payments avail.

3 – Use Nacsport Pro Plus and live stream the FULL VIDEO to another laptop with Nacsport that is using the Coach Station tool. You will need to create your own independent network between you and the coaching staff using AP Wireless Lite or another method. The coach can take the laptop to the changing room and display the video even outside of the network. You can also achieve the streaming options of points 1 and 2 above, but can further enhance these by also including in-game drawings from KlipDraw.

Can you use these processes in training sessions? Yes! This video from the Castleford Tigers Rugby League team reviews the Nacsport processes they use for live reviews, allowing them to fix things and learn straight away. You can learn more about the team’s use of live reviews and halftime feedback sessions with this webinar, featuring Head of Analysis Ste Mills, Head Coach Daryl Powell and Castleford Tigers player James Clare.

Did you know that you can use the Nacsport video analysis software on a Surface Pro? It is great option for a device to have on the bench or for use in training (You can Ste with this in the video above – he is not using an iPad/tablet).
