In sports video analysis, real-time access to footage and data is crucial for making informed decisions. With the introduction of the Nacsport Live App and Nacsport Hub Live, Nacsport provides two robust solutions for streaming video and data. This guide will walk you through the requirements for sending your live video and data over a local network and the internet, allowing coaches and analysts to review and interact with game footage seamlessly.

How to Share Live Video and Data Over a Local Network with Nacsport Live App

The Nacsport Live App is a powerful new addition to the Nacsport suite of tools, allowing analysts to share video footage and data across a local network. It’s perfect for environments where multiple team members need to access live footage and analysis without being connected to the internet.

What you need:

share video to the bench using the nacsport live app

You need a few key components to send live data and video to another device on a local network. Firstly, you need to live capture video into Nacsport. This can be achieved through using a compatible capture device or for best practice, one of our RTSP Encoders (which converts the HDMI or SDI feed from your sports analysis camera into an RTSP feed). Using an RTSP Encoder lets you bring the best quality video into the Nacsport Live app and also reduces load on the laptop software. Ensure all devices (including your RTSP Encoder or an IP Camera feed like AP Capture) and Nacsport computers are connected to the same LAN network. This is crucial for seamless communication between devices. You will also need a device to wirelessly extend your local area network (LAN) to the bench. AP Wireless is designed to simplify the creation of a secure local network for sharing live video and data. This system includes a multi-directional tripod, a close-range network switch, a wireless network booster and a protective carrying case, making it easy to set up and transport. It does not matter if you are filming football, filming rugby, filming hockey or filming any sport – the process is the same.

Use the Nacsport Live App on any mobile device that you require for viewing and interacting with the live feed. The app is available on both iOS and Android platforms. In the Nacsport software, capture and tag video live then select to stream the video and data via the network. Multiple connected devices with the Nacsport Live App will now be able to independently access the shared stream.

On Nacsport Live, you can scrub back through the video to any moment and also click on the list of clips that have been tagged in the Nacsport software, making it easy to review the key moments in a game and share better insights. The full video and clips are saved on the device, providing instant and easy review options for the changing room, on the coach or at home.

Benefits of Using the Nacsport Live App Over a Network

  • Full Video Review: The whole video is streamed to Nacsport Live, so any moment of the game can be reviewed, even if it hasn't been tagged in the Nacsport software.

  • Saved Offline: After the game/session, the full video and clips are saved on the device so they can be used at any time, making it perfect for when you're travelling back after the game.

  • Low Latency: Since the streaming happens over a local network, latency is minimal, ensuring smooth and real-time viewing of video footage that only has a few seconds of delay.

  • Ease of Use: The Nacsport Live App is designed for intuitive use, making it accessible even for non-tech-savvy team members.

  • No Internet Required: Unlike internet-based solutions, network streaming is not dependent on the quality or availability of an internet connection, making it highly reliable for use in stadiums or training grounds.

How to Share Live Video and Data Over the Internet with Nacsport Hub

For a quick and easy setup and for remote teams or situations where team members cannot be in the same location, Nacsport Hub provides a powerful solution for internet-based streaming and analysis. Making use of Nacsport Hub Live allows teams to share video clips and Dashboard images over the internet to anyone in their Nacsport Hub account, who can review these moments from any device with an internet connection (via the web browser or Nacsport Hub app).

What you need:

Similar to above, you start by live capturing video into Nacsport through a compatible capture device, RTSP encoder or IP Camera feed. You also need to ensure you have an internet connection on your Nacsport machine.

You will need to start a Hub Live session from inside Nacsport and login to your Hub account. Ensure that all members of the team that require access to the live video clips are also logged into the Hub Live session on their mobile or tablet device. When tagging the game live, you can select clips to upload to the Hub Live session with a click of a button and send images of the Dashboard too. You can even automate certain buttons in your tagging window to always upload related clips to Hub Live and set your Dashboard image to upload every 5 minutes for example.

Using Nacsport Hub through the app or web browser enables connected team members to watch any of these clips and see the Dashboard images. Each team member can favourite their own clips and filter the list to quickly see the specific actions they want to review.

When the session finishes, the Hub Live session turns into a presentation on Nacsport Hub, so those moments can be reviewed after the game too, as long as you have an internet connection.

Benefits of Using the Nacsport Hub Live

  • Accessibility: Nacsport Hub allows team members from different locations to access video footage and collaborate effectively.

  • Easy Setup: Without requiring network equipment, you can share video to Nacsport Hub Live as long as you have an internet connection.

  • Included within Nacsport Hub: Hub Live is an added bonus for teams who are using Nacsport Hub as their online sharing, communication and video analysis platform.

  • Any Device: You can use Nacsport Hub on any device with an internet connection, through the application or a web browser.
